However, PTM’s strength really lies in its joint resources. At this stage, the cluster consists of six toolrooms or smart workshops in KZN, each of which has a proven track record of working to international standards in both the automotive and white goods industries. Each workshop has committed its resources to the cluster under a memorandum of agreement, enabling PTM to commit and keep to the agreed lead times. Each cluster member brings specific skills which enable PTM to provide a wide range of tooling to industry. Jointly the cluster can handle projects of up to R1.2 million per month, with individual moulds up to 5000 kg.
